Nothing tastes as good as fit feels

Life is weird; you go on with your day until you see something that catches your eye. Sometimes it’s a picture, or maybe a quote you see on your Facebook wall…The other day I saw this one “Nothing tastes as good as fit feels”. it got me thinking back to the old days of when I just didn’t care about my body. If I don’t go out, why do I need to change it? If nobody is commenting on it, why does it matter? But, once I stopped asking all these stupid questions that I used to justify my laziness, there was no stopping me.

“Once I stopped asking all these stupid questions that I used to justify my laziness, there was no stopping me.”

When I started out trying to get fit, it felt fairly bad for the first few days. Once you push past this initial period, though, it makes way for the feeling of achievement and motivation. The feeling of self-worth and the feeling of always wanting to do more and more and more! Once you really get into going for a jog every day, it just becomes routine, in a good way!.

The Good Kind of Routine

You get up, you get your fitness gear on and you run out the door every morning and you feel free. You can watch yourself progress from only running a few hundred yards before running out of breath, all the way up to running for miles. Lifting weights at the gym becomes a routine every second day. You start out small and find you can’t lift what you thought you could. Once you start making it your routine, you have to keep going up in the weights. Everything you used to do is so easy now. You can feel your muscles tighten and grow. You can see yourself getting fit. You feel in control. You feel motivated. You can start to feel tired, but you just keep running and keep lifting; you push through the wall. Nobody can ever stop you now! You are UNSTOPPABLE.

“You suddenly feel motivated to do everything you normally put off because ‘it’s too much effort’. Screw that!”

You begin to tone and progress. You look in the mirror and you see a different person- your entire self-evaluation changes. You see a person you’d like to be seen with in public. A person you’d like to BE in public. On top of that, you suddenly feel motivated to do everything you normally put off because “it’s too much effort”. Screw that!

You can just dive straight into it, getting everything done and asking for more. There’s no time for being lazy anymore. You start to notice people checking you out as you walk past and you realize that you can walk with your head held high that day because you have given yourself the best gift ever, Fitness. With fitness comes the feeling of self-confidence, of motivation and of being able to do anything. You can now see that none of that disgusting food you used to eat could ever have tasted as good as fit feels, and everything it brings, makes you feel even better.

If life has taught me anything it’s that nothing tastes as good as FIT feels.
